Source

Human CALCA Protein, His Tag (CAA-H52H3) is expressed from human 293 cells (HEK293). It contains AA Ala 26 - Asn 141 (Accession # P01258).

Predicted N-terminus: Ala 26

Molecular Characterization

This protein carries a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.

The protein has a calculated MW of 14.7 kDa. The protein migrates as 15-16 kDa when calibrated against Star Ribbon Pre-stained Protein Marker under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.

Endotoxin

Less than 1.0 EU per μg by the LAL method / rFC method.

Purity

>90% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

>95% as determined by SEC-MALS.

Formulation

Lyophilized from 0.22 μm filtered solution in PBS, pH7.4 with trehalose as protectant.

バックグランド

CALCA is the gene encoding two biologically distinct peptides via alternative splicing: calcitonin and calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP). Calcitonin regulates calcium homeostasis and serves as a medullary thyroid carcinoma biomarker. In contrast, CGRP is a potent vasodilatory neuropeptide central to migraine pathophysiology and a clinically validated target for preventive therapies.
