RNase III enzyme typically cleave both strands of double-stranded RNAs (dsRNAs). This enzyme could convert long double-stranded RNA into a heterogeneous mix of short (18–25 bp) interfering RNAs (siRNA) suitable for RNA interference in mammalian cells.

Unit Definition

One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme required to digest 1 µg of 500bp dsRNA to 12-30bp siRNA in 60 minutes at 37°C.

>90% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

Formulation

Supplied as 0.2 μm filtered solution in 10 mM Tris, 500 mM NaCl, 0.5 mM EDTA, pH8.0 with glycerol as protectant.
