Immunohistochemistry (IHC) is an antibody-based technique that utilizes the specific binding between antigens and antibodies. Through enzyme-labeled antibodies and chromogenic substrate reactions, it enables the localization, qualitative, and quantitative analysis of antigens within tissue cells. Due to its high specificity, sensitivity, and precise localization, IHC effectively integrates morphological and functional studies, making it widely applied across various fields of biological and medical research.

Due to its ability to visually and  qualitatively detect target proteins in tissue samples, IHC has become an essential validation method in the development of solid tumor-targeted therapies such as antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and TIL-based cell therapies. * The human gene Claudin-18 has two protein isoforms, Claudin-18.1 and Claudin-18.2, which differ within the N-terminal 69 amino acids. Claudin-18.1 is predominantly expressed in the lungs, whereas Claudin-18.2 is predominantly expressed in the stomach.
