SA- Biotin Systems
In 1963, Stapley EO first isolated streptavidin (SA) from the culture medium of Streptomyces avidinii. The binding between SA and biotin is one of the strongest non-covalent interactions known in nature. SA and biotin bind with high affinity producing a significant amplification effect, making the SA-biotin system an asset that is widely utilized in biological and chemical experiments.
SA-biotin systems are often coupled to antibodies or proteins, where SA is conjugated to labels such as HRP (Horseradish Peroxidase), fluorophores, etc., and biotin is coupled to antibodies or proteins (MABSOL® Biotinylated Proteins). The SA-biotin system is widely used in the qualitative and quantitative detection of trace antigens, antibodies and localization observation research to achieve indirect detection of targets, making immunolabeling and related tracer analysis more sensitive.

No. CD9-H82F6) and negative control protein respectively, washed and then followed with 2.5 μg/mL of Streptavidin Protein-PE, premium grade (Cat. No. STN-NP117) and analyzed with FACS.
